Question: We have decided to Franchise. Is that the right thing to do?

Answer:
It is very difficult to say. There are three rules in franchising:

  • That you receive money upfront or on-going.
  • They have the right and responsibility to use a trademark
  • You must use the business systems or marketing programs of the franchiser.
If any of those rules are not required or could be reviewed before expanding your business, we can certainly help you find another way to expand instead of franchising which may be much less costly. We explore options with your company in strategic planning and come up with solutions which may be much less expensive, faster, easier for you to sell, and better for growth. However, if franchising is the right thing to do, Franchise Masters can certainly help you in all aspects of your business expansion and development.



Question: I only have one unit that has been successful in business. Can I expand with that one unit through franchising or some other method?

Answer:
That depends. Sometimes only one unit is necessary. In other cases, there are franchisors who have expanded their business very successfully without ever owning a business entity of their own. In other situations, it is important t be able to show your expansion and the success of that expansion prior to expanding your business through franchising or some other form.

Question: How expensive is this process?

Answer:
Your costs could reach up to $75,000 or it could be as low as $5,000. This will depend on how much work you wish to do on your business expansion and which form of business expansion is chosen as the correct business model for your business.



Question: What do I need to do to get ready?
Answer:
Franchise Masters can spend 1-5 days with you, your staff and your company to determine the feasibility of your expansion plans and the best method for that expansion and determine the costs of doing that expansion. Our costs are fixed, therefore no surprises.
